Bill Nash Jazz Bass JB-63 Daphne Blue Bass Guitar
! For sale is Bill Nash Jazz Bass JB-63 in an amazing Daphne Blue color with white stripe – it is a single exemplar in this color combination. It has Lollar pickups. Wonderful jazz bass is created to reproduce the old Fender sound! Bass-guitar condition: This bass is “fresh”, if it’s possible to say so. The year of production is 2014. It is difficult to judge its condition, since the guitar is relic. However, it works perfectly concerning its functions and has an ideal-vintage-relic condition. You can see everything in the photo. Feeling of old times is exactly the characteristic feature of Bill Nash guitars. Sound: The sound of these instruments needs to be heard in person. Of all the modern instruments trying to have the old-school Fender sound, Bill Nash is probably the most close to it. These bass guitars are made of high-quality wood, selected by Bill Nash for each guitar individually. The wood is always resonant, responsive and not too heavy. The peculiarity of sound lies in right-selected wood, due to which the right passive bass-guitar sound is formed. And good electronics makes the wood work more wonderfully. This Bill Nash guitar is classical in all aspects – well-selected alder body, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard. The instrument has Lollar pickups, which are rare with bass guitars, but sound amazingly! The bass has wonderful highs and beautiful lows. It sounds just great in the mix as well as in solos. Tuning and convenience: It is a classical jazz bass , but every jazz bass has its nuances. This instrument is rather light, familiar and comfortable like any other jazz bass. Neck is well-balanced, profile is thick and similar to ’90 Fender Jazz Bass necks. The instrument is perfectly tuned and I like the action a lot here. It has both great sustain and characteristic attack without picks and leaps in dynamics. Packaging: Bass guitar comes with the original hardshell case. There is a label with a serial number confirming its originality. General outcome and my subjective opinion: Having read the interview with Bill Nash, I learned that many famous musicians use his basses, sometimes even hide it. Why? Because they don’t want to play pre-CBS Fenders at some small pub concerts, yet they want to preserve a great sound. That’s why Nash guitars are the compromise. It’s really good if to look at the pre-CBS price (10.000$ and more) and Nash price ($1600-2000). I now have 2 working instruments: 1975 Fender JB and this one, because I like alder. I strongly recommend you to try these instruments! I think you are going to like them!
