Literally, it is my favorite MM bass-guitar line. It has a right combination of important components of 5-string bass guitar that I always look for. • Convenience. The neck is very comfortable if to compare with the guitars of the same price. For me, it I the right proportion of width and thickness. Everything is played easily and naturally here. It is very responsive and tunes easily at any range. I consider it to be the best 5-string neck of this line that I’ve ever held. • Universality. The combination of humbucker and single pickup (in fact, it is the same humbucker, but ëèíåéíûé) give versatile sound at each coil mode. At the same time, it preserves the classical MM sound at bridge humbucker and others only add different shades. All sounds are original and suitable for any music situation. Everything depends on your imagination only. • Sound and tone. On the one hand, it is a very aggressive and forceful bass; on the other hand, it is rather soft. Everything depends on mode and electronics’ tunings. Anyways, it is a Brand. Low-mids are very distinct and sit well in the mix, connecting with drums perfectly and forming the right musical mix. Who is acquainted with StingRays, but not with Sterlings, I will explain the difference briefly. Sound: Sterlings have a little bit different electronics and pickups with ceramic magnets, whereas latest StingRays have alnico magnets, and due to this Sterling sound is brighter at low-mids range with more roar and growl. Output level is also higher. Ergonomics: Sterling’s body is smaller, neck has thinner profile and it seemed more comfortable to me than on StingRays. But many men – many minds, and I like both StingRays and Sterlings, because they are right active basses. They love it for that. It includes the original hardshell case.
