Fender Precision 1974 Sunburst All Original Bass Guitar
I will not talk long about this Fender Precision. The bass 100% original! It is my second bass along with Jazz Bass 1975 and I play jazz bass more only because it happened so that I got used to this Fender model ) Lately, I’ve been very successful at good vintage instruments and this beast won among all the Precisions I’ve ever had, including 71, 73, 74, 76-78 and many other new ones. This is a very live and responsive instrument. Body is made of old alder that has more value than ash, which was set on Fenders starting from 1970s, it means that this bass is one of the last alder Precisions. It is very resonant! Neck is made of a one-piece maple! Cold, so to say. They are not manufactured now (only with fingerboard). It is my favorite wood combination - alder and maple! The attack here is very distinct, highs are resonant, lows are very springy, that is vintage and it has a fundamental feeling. Notwithstanding that this is Precision (many think these basses are loud), this exemplar is very clear due to the right old wood and has good mids tone that sounds distinctly in the mix. I recorded on track with this bass, but it’s not released yet. It is the best studio bass I’ve ever had! Taking into account the museum value and ideal untouched condition, the bass becomes a real treasure! And as the price is low, because of my principally affordable price policy, it becomes real and tangible. Who needs a rare, beautifully preserved, alder CBS Fender Precision, I highly recommend you this guitar. I hope it will become a possession of a big Precision lover. I’ve tried to persuade myself that I love p-basses for a long time, but after that I always go back to j-basses and calm down. I highly recommend this one! Don’t miss the chance!
