For sale is bursting high-end bass handmade by a famous luthier Stuart Spector. The bass is in perfect condition, almost new; there are no visible marks of usage. The body is made of wonderful 2-piece quilted maple, the neck is made of 3-piece maple with pau ferro fingerboard. It has active EMG electronics, humbucker and single pickup. The push-pull humbucker can function as a single pickup. Aguilar OBP-1 electronics includes 2-band EQ, functioning as boost, 2 volumes and push-pull for switching humbucker modes (when it’s up, the humbucker functions). My personal opinion about this instrument: the bass is of high quality, well-thought to the smallest details and is generally perfectly-designed. The body has matt covering that feels and looks pleasantly. The neck is waxed. In such a way, the wood is open and breathes when playing. The bass has 35 scale and 24 frets; it is rather long comparing to Fenders, for example, but the length is justified by the sound. The bass is lightweight with comfortable body shape ) It is rather comfortable. Sound: the bass has a distinct modern character. Tone is a little bit brass and uncompromising, growling, but deep and thick enough, what I liked. The wood of the bass resonates well, it has a wonderful attack and sustain. The bass will never get lost in the mix; the sound is rather focused and always in its place. The 5th string is one of the best I’ve ever heard. It is very distinct and thick and at the same time in balance. Electronics is rather flexible, so you can get different sound if you want (including soft and blurred one), but the bass is made for playing brass, aggressive, and modern things. I like the bass a lot. There can be some problems with getting used to this bass because of 35”” scale and long neck, but it’s a matter of habit, and this is compensated by the wonderful sound. I’ve taken the pictures in the wild )) Samples are recorded with 0 EQ. I’ll remind that there’s a lot of space for boost; when you add lows the sound becomes smooth. Choose what you like, there are great possibilities to experiment. The bass comes with a native hardshell case in perfect condition. spector_ns5HS_hs_mix:
